Are you new to machine embroidery? Want to learn more? This class is for you! Learn the steps and tips you need to know to stitch designs that are fun and look professional. Make your own customized gifts for friends and family!
Learn about your machine, master the myriad of stabilizers, learn about designs and the elements in basic digitizing, successful hooping, what materials and tools you need to make your designs look smooth and wrinkle-free, learn about color selection and terminology, and how to combine and rotate designs. You will finish like a pro and will make beautiful projects! You will have hands-on learning for your machine and will make 5-6 projects during class sessions.

Sewing/Embroidery Machine
Machine Embroidery Needles – Size 75/11 and 80/12
Embroidery Foot for your machine
Variety of Embroidery Threads (Bring what you have, but don’t go buy any – Kenn stocks what you will need)
Small embroidery scissors (Bring what you have, but don’t go buy any – Kenn stocks what you will need)
(Optional) Applique Scissors – bring what you have, but don’t go buy any – Kenn stocks what you will need)
Embroidery Hoops that came with your machine
If you have a Janome machine, please make sure to bring your hoop magnets!
Embroidery stabilizers – bring what you have, but don’t go buy any – Kenn stocks what you will need)
Foam Shelf Liner – waffle-type – can get this later in the class
6-8” dressmaker’s scissors
Rotary Cutter – don’t buy one if you don’t have one until after the first class
Prewound bobbins or bobbins and bobbin thread to wind yourself – to save time, please have wound prior to class if you are winding your own
USB Flash Drive to load your designs on – most machines don’t like over 4 gb
¾” Pink RNK tape (Kenn has) or you can use ¾” blue painters’ tape
Supply Lists Specific to Classes
Class 1 – Spider Coaster -- 5x7 hoop (or larger)
Front Fabric -- Halloween fabric at least 1” larger than hoop all the way around
Back Fabric – Halloween fabric at least 1” larger than hoop all the way around
Fusible Fleece at least 1” larger than hoop all the way around (or cotton batting AND 505 spray adhesive)
2 pieces Fabric-like Water-Soluble Stabilizer at least 1” larger than hoop all the way around
4”x4” piece of black fabric
Small amount of poly stuffing
Applique scissors (see above)
Class 2 – Tea Towel – 5x7 hoop (or larger)
100% Cotton Tea Towel (I stock nice ones and you may purchase one from me for $3)
Variety of embroidery thread colors (you will have your choice of 2-3 designs)
