This has been one of our most requested classes.

The tote bag is designed to carry a small cutting mat, rulers, rotary cutter, scissors etc. to your sewing class. Once those items are removed from the tote, you turn it over to the back side which is an ironing board fabric surface. You can use that side for pressing seams. After class, just put the mat and tools back inside it and carry them home.

Saturday,October 6th, 2018 from 10 am – 2:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

Cost is $40 - one 4 hour class. Must be pre- registered and pre-paid.

Class size is limited to 6 people so reserve your spot soon!

Please come a little early, so you can be set up and ready to start on time.

You will use your own sewing machine, so prior to class make sure that you are familiar with it’s use and that it is in good working condition.

Quilted Sewing Class Tote Bag

SUPPLIES

(#1)*1/8 yd of each of six different cotton quilting fabrics

*16” square of coordinating fabric for pocket (and fusible interfacing if decorating)

*½ yd. cotton fabric for binding and handles

*½ yd. cotton fabric for lining

*1 piece of Iron Quick quilted ironing board fabric 16”X20” rectangle It is hard to find so I have purchased a small quantity. You can purchase a 16”X20” rectangle of it from me on day of class for $4.00.

*½ yd. cotton quilt batting ( 2 pieces 16’X20”)& (2 pieces ¾ “ X 16” for handles)

*Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, rotary cutter/mat/6X24” ruler, seam ripper,

Matching thread, bobbin wound with same thread)

*Sewing machine, in good working order

*new machine needle size 80/12 Universal

CUTTING DIRECTIONS:

*From each of the #1 cotton fabrics cut a 2”X42” strip

*From binding/handle fabric, cut three 3”X42” strips for binding and two 4”X16” strips for handles.

*From lining fabric, cut two 16”X20” rectangles

*From quilted ironing board fabric, cut one 16”X20” rectangle

*from batting, cut two 16”X20” rectangles plus two ¾”X16” strips for handles
