Comprehensive 3 week course!   

Register today for "Learn to Sew" classes at the Sewing Center of Cheyenne! Beginning Sewing 101 classes have been reconstructed to accommodate more folks wanting to learn to sew and to tailor your skills and knowledge base to attain more experience and creativity! Each section will be 3 class (for a total of nine classes) and will be held from 9:00a.m.-3:30p.m. at the Sewing Center of Cheyenne on the following dates.     

Prerequisite: Have your machine recently serviced and in good running order; Ability to print your your class material weekly (at home, library, Office Depot, or a friend with a printer.)

Upcoming classes will be divided into 3 different set of 3 classes. Each section builds upon the previous one.

1. Learn to Sew Section 1 Classes 1-3 
2. Saturday Sept 28, Oct 5 and the 12th  Price is $160.00 or
3. Monday Sept 30, Oct 7, and 14

Class 1:

• I'm New Here
• Take the Pledge
• Meet Your Machine
• Basic Sewing Tools and Supplies
• How to Speak Fluent Sewing
• Fabric Terminology and Fabric Basics
• Some Basic Hand Sewing
• Sew a Straight Line
• Use your Quilting Guide and SO MUCH more! You will make a project every class!

Week 1 Project:  Faux Chenille/Denim Hot Pad

Class 2:

• Rulers, Rotary Cutters, Scissors and Mats "You Can Cut It"
• Pivots and Corners
• Needles and Thread
• Needle Plate Markings and Seam Allowances
• Topstitch and Overcoming Fear of all those fancy stitches you bought your machine for
• Needles and Changing Them
• Pinning
• Pressing vs Ironing
• Top Stitching
• Jack the Ripper   and SO MUCH more!

Week 2 Project - Utility Apron

Class 3:

• Spa Day for Your Machine
• Read a Written Pattern
• Concave and Convex Curves
• Perfect Seam Allowance
• KAM Snaps  and SO MUCH more!
